Top Five Strategies for Business Growth

Top 5 Money-Making Action Tasks for Business Growth

Inaction is the death of any business. Without taking regular action every single day to grow your business, inaction will cause your business to become stagnant. Identifying business growth strategies and tactics is critical. Clients will disappear, your sales funnel will be empty, and your revenue will dip to zero in a heartbeat.

Let’s avoid this scenario!  Here are five action tasks that will lead to increased income and business growth.

-

Email Your Customers Regularly.

Contrary to popular belief, email marketing is NOT dead. Email is the easiest way to stay in touch with customers and prospects to let them know about your new offerings or to recommend an affiliate product which pays you a commission.

-

Focus on Customer Service.

You will never please everyone but you may as well try your best. Inevitably customers will contact you with questions or refund requests so be prepared to answer these requests in a timely manner. Stick to your rules about refunds but never disregard or disrespect a customer. Negative online reviews are easier to find than positive ones.

-

Raise Your Rates.

When was your last rate increase? Are your prices competitive with the current market of coaches of your caliber? Can your ideal client still afford your new rates? Be confident that your expertise is worth that new rate and break the new carefully to your current clientele so they don’t jump ship.

-

Repackage Your Offerings.

Don’t reinvent the wheel. Simply take your older content – books, programs, blog posts, etc. – and create new bundles or create an entirely new product. The information or products should obviously be related in topic to appeal to the most people and be sure to price it accordingly.

-

Create a New Offering for Old Clients.

People buy from those they know, like, and trust, so open up that old client list and create an exclusive offer just for them. Make the offer sexy, exclusive, and time-sensitive to get quick action results.

How Do I Know What to Offer?

This is an age-old question of many coaches and business owners and it boils down to knowing your target audience. How do they want their information presented? What are the hot topics in their industry? What struggles do they have every day? The simplest way to know what they want is to simply ask them.

Another reason coaches don’t know what to offer is because they don’t have a plan, either for their business or who they want to help. Writing a business plan with action steps is imperative for business growth and I’m presenting a very in-depth workshop on this very topic.

MAPSS - Marketing Action Planning for Strategic Success guides participants through the process of building a highly usable and effective marketing action plan with four modules filled with actionable steps anyone can implement. At the end of the modules you will have a completed 12-month calendar with all your programs, content, and promotions listed along with the action steps necessary to produce it all. Creating Solid Strategies of Recurring Income

Creating Recurring Streams of Revenue:

recurring income

What is residual income?  It is income that comes into your business each month after you have made the sale or entered into a customer partnership.  You have done the work in the beginning and then because the product is a consumable product, the customer continues to buy the product or service, month after month, without continuous sales cycles.  We see this type of model in many services that we use in our homes -- cable or satellite television services, phone services and in some of the consumable products we buy -- food, cleaning etc.

But have you created such a revenue stream in your business?  It gives your company predicatble and reliable income, month after month, while you are also developing new clients and customers.  Your renewing customers are laying a foundation of income in your business.

Many businesses think they have created that consistent revenue stream but in reality it can evaporate as quickly as it appeared, leaving the business floundering.

Strategies that Work for YOU!

I love watching people create new income and thrive in doing so... I love helping them do that through coaching and mentoring them.... and I love seeing the results in a changed lifestyle.

What are your dreams?  How are you making them happen for you and your family?

Take 5 minutes right now and write down your vision and dream.  Then read it every day.

If you aren't realizing your dreams, then call me.  I have lots of resources, ideas and strategies for helping you to LIVE your dreams instead of daydreaming!

You can create a business that is thriving and viable even in the worst economy.  Ensure that your business has redundancy in revenue.  Don't count on one stream of income.  Create multiple streams of income.  Integrate other resources that enhance your business and your life -- and result in additional income.

As a business owner, you know that you are on a great path and that there is no turning back.  It's like an addiction.  Once you have tasted business ownership it is hard to imagine going back to a J.O.B.! So make sure you are creating strategies that ensure your success.

Do You Have Clear Business Goals

business goalsIdentifying Your Business Goals

Before you get into marketing your business, you need to identify its business goals. Although we take for granted that a business' goal is to increase revenue, that's not the end of the story. There are many other types of goals companies strive to achieve.

Product Creation

Some businesses are driven by the desire to offer excellent products that make life easier for all of us. Your business goal may be to create the most innovative products on the market. This is a wonderful goal because products are at the heart of any business's success.

Customer Service

Your business's goal may be to serve your customers and help them solve their problems. It may also be to lend help to the community or to strengthen the community of your customers. This is also an excellent choice because good customer service leads to more sales.

Customer Retention

Your goal may be to not only gain new customers and increase revenue, but to keep the customers you have. Businesses do this by creating a community for their customers and by remaining open to their feedback in order to improve their products or services.

Growth and Expansion

Maybe your business's goal is to grow and expand, eventually moving into new markets and new enterprises. If this is the case, conducting market research to find new areas would be a major part of your overall strategy.

Efficiency

A major goal for your company may be to tighten up your processes. This might include challenging your salespeople to reach an ever higher sales ratio or streamlining your shipping in order to reach your customers more quickly.

Changing the World

Some companies have as part of their vision to enable social change. Your goal might be to make the world a better place through the use of your products and services. This is a goal for many companies that produce environmentally-friendly products or work to streamline their operations so that they're more ecological.
Increasing revenue and profit isn't the only goal of most businesses. Look at your business currently and ask yourself what other goals you have. This will help you as you plan your marketing.

Think Positive

think positiveThe Power of Positive Affirmations

Everyone has that little voice within themselves that constantly tells them when they can or cannot do something. Most often, that little voice is giving you a million and one reasons why you can't, which only adds to our self-doubt. Trying to think positive, can feel overwhelming or impossible, but it's not.

Positive affirmations are positive thoughts or words that describe a desired situation or outcome, such as success. These have to be repeated over and over again in order to trigger the subconscious mind into positive action.

Most people spend far too much time repeating negative words and statements in their mind, whether consciously or subconsciously. Keep telling yourself that you can't do something, that you are too lazy, or that you are stupid and don't be surprised if you never succeed at anything. Words and statements work both ways, to build or destroy. But their capacity to cause harm or good is up to us.

The repetition of positive affirmations help focus your mind on your aim, automatically building corresponding mental images in the conscious mind, when then affects the subconscious mind. By using this process consciously and intently, you harness the power of your subconscious mind to transform your habits, behavior , mental attitude and reactions.

The most effective affirmations are those that are composed by yourself. But in order to be truly effective, you must believe whole-heartedly in your own affirmations. It is best to state your positive daily affirmations in the present tense, for example, I am..., rather than I will be.... Also, choose words which will evoke positive mental images, describing what you really want. If you desire to lose weight, tell yourself I am getting slim rather than I am not fat.

think positive

The transformative powers of positive affirmations are very real. By repeatedly stating what you want to be true in your life, you mentally and emotionally see and feel it as true, thereby attracting it into your life.

When you start focusing, intentionally, on your mindset, your self worth you will find that you do get to choose it. You have the ability to shift it and take control and change the results.  Decide today to change low self worth. Don't let it take control of your life.

Thinking positive can shift the energy in your life. But it is a practice.  Most have to retrain their brains.  It sounds cliche, but the reality is that your mindset can impact your outcomes, your results.

It sounds simple, right?  But the reality is that you have to work at it. And even though it seems simple, creating a daily practice, will help support your goals.  Shifting your mindset and creating a daily practice, helps you to accomplish your goals, your vision.

Here are a couple of the daily affirmations:

1. Today is full of opportunities, and I welcome each one!
2. I am worthy of unconditional love, and I am loved by many.
3. Only I have the power to change my life, and the beginning is today.

Improving Productivity With These Simple Tactics

improve productivityImplement These 3 Productivity Hacks Today

Productivity and efficiency are the popular buzz words lately as more and more business owners try to make the most of their time during a busy day. No matter how hard you try, you simply cannot do everything yourself when it comes to running your business. Investing in your business not only decreases stress but it makes your business run more smoothly, therefore increasing profits. But it means that YOU, the owner have to let go of the DIY mindset and grow into your CEO mindset that is a powerful leader and delegate (r)!

Most business leaders need to improve the productivity of their business whether it is a one person shop or 1000 person biz.

If you need to improve your productivity, try these three tips:

outsource to improve productivity1. Outsource It

Rather than being saddled with monotonous tasks and expensive software that you may have to learn, many smart business owners are accepting their limitations and finding expert service providers to take over these tasks. What takes one expert an hour to do can easily take a non-savvy business owner 5 hours to complete. Is that really a good use of your time? You KNOW the answer to this.  But the reality of handing tasks over can be challenging.

Start off by asking your business associates for referrals and conduct regular interviews, as though you were hiring an employee. Just because they are a virtual service provider doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have the same high standards you would expect from an employee.  Start with the things that feel easiest for you. As you begin delegating tasks and overseeing them instead of doing them, you will become more and more confident in your new systems.  Having solid policies and procedures helps make this transition smoother.

Fiverr uses the basic concept of $5 for a job.  Always read reviews before engaging a contractor on Fiverr.  Also, review portfolios if possible.  Fiverr is not always just $5.  So be sure to check out what the actual pricing is and what is included.

2. Kick the Bad Habits

It is time to kick old habits, especially the bad ones!! Make sure that you are creating habits that are effective and getting rid of the old ones!

- Are you stuck in the dark ages, doing things just because you’ve always done it that way? Analyze your business during the last year.

- Did you launch any programs? Were the results better or worse than you expected?

- Are there any new software programs or apps that will make your work more efficient?

- Are you still keeping your books in a handwritten ledger or are you ready to convert to a computer software program?

- Delegate tasks; find a new software; plan out new programs or updates; these are all things you can start doing today, not to spend money unnecessarily but to breathe some excitement into your business.

3. Create an Actual Plan

Create a plan.  In the Business Growth Project I provide a strategic planning document and training. A focused strategic plan is key. Do not create a plan that is so overwhelming it is impossible to work on. A strategic plan is a live document. You should be looking at it every week and creating your action plan based on your strategies.

The important thing is to create a plan that you can use and follow.  Put your projects onto a calendar and work towards achieving those goals. Without a plan, your actions are meaningless. You might decide to work on something unrelated to your goals or you might delay your own deadlines in order to put client business ahead of your own work. A business plan is your blueprint to reaching your goals, no matter how lofty they may seem. Seeing this plan daily will give you something to focus on, therefore increasing your daily productivity.

Building Your Marketing System

Why do you want and need a marketing system?

marketing system

When you build a marketing system that is YOURS, you KNOW that you have a way to increase your revenue easily and predictably.

A marketing system consistently:

- Brings new and qualified leads (future buyers) into your business

- Has a system for follow up and nurturing that helps YOU connect with your new leads and build the "know, like, trust" relationship

- Uses calls to action wisely to bring people into your customer base.

- Provides customer service that builds loyalty and repeat business.

- Works easily and reliably so that you know what to expect for your growth each week or month.

- Is trackable so that you can improve it when it is not working as well as you want or need it to.

So what does this really mean? Isn't all marketing the same?

There are definitely marketing concepts that work across businesses and industries that you should be implementing in your business. But they can look different for different companies.

For instance, if you are a local boutique you need local traffic into your store. Can the Internet or social media help with that? Definitely. But you also need signage on your storefront, local ads with calls to action.

The biggest mistake I see is that people focus on getting buyers and that doesn't work in a lot of industries. And the mistake is that they don't get the person's information or capture the lead! They have no way to follow up or continuing to build the relationship. The interaction is over.

This happens over and over. A business owner runs an ad -- sending the lead to their BUY NOW button and they don't buy, they bounce! But what if was a different call to action -- an optin where the first step was a really valuable item at a low cost or no cost. Then you have the opportunity to continue marketing and building the "know, like, trust."

So, whether you are a local shop or an online business -- lead capture is key. It has to be a part of your marketing system!!

Lead capture or optins are different from followers or connections. When you build your email list -- it is YOURS. When you have followers or connections or friends on a social media platform, they can definitely become buyers but they can also be taken away by the platform without your control. Moving people over to your email list is key.

What are the pieces of the marketing system?

- Being clear on your target market -- who are you marketing to?

- Lead capture -- having a way of capturing the information when someone connects with you.

- Follow-up - they say the money is in the follow-up and so many miss this opportunity to continue connecting.

- Presenting valuable offers -- when you have done a good job of connecting with your target market, your service should be valuable to them. Building good offers that provide a ton of value are the offers that people will be interested in.

- Loyalty -- everything you are doing up to this step is geared to help you in building loyalty. If you don't have a good follow up system, you will lose customers and they won't come back, because you are not telling them what you have to offer to them.

When you build YOUR system, you have the ability to predict your results. You can turn it on and off. Or up and down based on what you can handle.

When you have a working sales and marketing system -- you can look at HOW to scale your business!! That's exciting! Not everyone is doing that, because not everyone is building a system for their sales and marketing. If there is only one system that you are going to build in your business -- this is the one!!

Collaboration Plus Accountability Could Equal Business Magic

COLLABORATION

Womenpreneur's Mastermind is designed to bring women business leaders together in a collaborative work space.

A Collaborative Circle means a space for people to come together and brainstorm ideas -- creating something new or different from what they have already created.

Collaboration -- is the bringing together of ideas that results in something new.  If you are a woman, then you know that when a group of women come together -- and start working on a problem -- magic happens.  There is brilliance that creates something incredible.  Imagine the potential of an INTENTIONAL collaboration space?  What could happen?  Now the idea starts to emerge and the group wants to see it happen....

ACCOUNTABILITY

Now we start seeing this natural accountability happen. People are asking -- How's it going?  What did you do to make it happen?  People are invested in your success!!  Now, that is powerful.

But there is more to accountability then just your collaborative solutions.  You have goals and dreams and visions that you have been working on. Maybe you've made progress and maybe you haven't.  Now, you have a plan that lays it all out AND gives you a built in accountability system.

Imagine putting together a strategic plan that excites you, that is focused and doable, that creates the vision. THAT, is exactly what happens in the Womenpreneur's Mastermind with our Best Year Yet™ Planning system.  But it is more that the plan, because we gather together monthly to review the plans, the challenges, the successes and that makes each person more accountable then most have been for years.

Okay, think about it, you decide to join the Circle, we work together to get your plan just right and you tell everyone in the group about it.  Now, next month you come to the monthly circle and say, "oh, I didn't do a thing on the plan."  Could you? I couldn't. I would be up til 4 AM getting everything done, even the night before the meeting if I hadn't done anything. Why? Because of my pride. I said I would.  I told other people.

Accountability in a group can be powerful.

MAGIC

Magic?  Really?  Well, I think when women gather together in a collaborative space -- that alone produces magic.  Everyone leaves excited, inspired, motivated.  That is magic.  Everyone starts accomplishing more than they expected and more than they had imagined.

Magic by definition is exciting and wonderful, it can create a move or change or a creation.

Can women together create magic?  Can they help each other create businesses that thrive and expand and prosper?

I think with the combination that the Womenpreneur's Mastermind Inner Circle and Power Circle have - training resources, collaboration space, strategic planning, accountability meetings -- the ingredients for real magic are there.  They just need to be used to see the expansion.

Making Things Happen

Strategic planning can be the key to making things happen.  So, what is a good strategic plan?

Good strategic plans are concise, clear and compelling.

They don't take days and weeks or months to put together.  While many people can be involved in creating an effective strategic plan, they can still be developed efficiently.

Good plans focus on the most important goals for moving the organization towards its vision.

I started my business in 2003.  I came out of the non profit world and had spent most of my career working with people on achieving their goals.  Since the age of 14 I worked with people with disabilities and their families, primarily in group homes. But, I also worked in sheltered workshops, employment programs...etc.

As a staff member, I was always envious of the group that gathered to support an individual in their life plan and goals.  It just seemed incredible to have a group of people sitting together brainstorming how to achieve the goals that the individual was setting.  I always wondered what would that be like!?!

Well, here we are and mastermind groups and coaching groups are common and highly successful for their members.  They can transform your results.

When I first started my company, I connected with Best Year Yet™, a strategic planning process.  It was an incredible fit for me and my company.

With Best Year Yet -- you can create a strategic plan that is highly effective, powerful and alive. Well, let's be honest.  It only works if YOU make it work.  But doing that is easy. I use Best Year Yet in my company, and with most of my clients.

Best Year Yet is central to all of the work that I do with clients.

The workshop is in person or online and is a half day to full day based on the size of the group.

What I love about groups coming together to create their strategic plan is that they learn from and benefit from others in the group. The power of that collaboration and inspiration is incredible. There is no way to really measure the true value of it.

One of the biggest challenges in achieving your vision and goals -- is two fold:

Mindset and Implementation.

I see people almost daily -- that are getting in their own way.  Best Year Yet helps to change this mindset. It is the most challenging part of the workshop.

I love this part! Why?? Well, it is transformative.  When an individual figures out WHY they aren't getting the results they WANT and NEED, then you are able to shift your mindset and step out of your own way.  It is almost magical sometimes!!

The other challenge is implementation!!

Many, many people set goals and then FAIL to implement.

Again, creating a plan is not enough. BUT having an way to implement that plan, is crucial. Best Year Yet helps people to do just that.

The combination is powerful.

When you join a mastermind group that has a strategic plan at its center, then you have increased your implementation and your results.  Telling people what you are going to do and then returning to the group the following month to report back, that is powerful! When I first started my business I was on a webinar with Mark Victor Hansen ( The Chicken Soup for the Soul guy).  He was talking about his mastermind group.  He said that he had found that if he hadn't done what he said he was going to do, that he would scramble the day before to get everything done, because he didn't want to show up and say he didn't do it.  That is what happens.  Maybe that first month, you are scrambling, but after that you are working your plan every day.  You are learning new habits and making things happen.  One, because you wrote your plan down and two, because you told other people that you would implement and take action. That is powerful.

- AI Has Been Around!!

- Now, let's talk about the key takeaways from using AI in your business:

I'm really excited to be back with another Womenpreneur's Success Path training session. Today, we're diving into the fascinating world of AI and how it can benefit your business. Let's get started!

AI Has Been Around!!

AI, or artificial intelligence, has been around for quite some time now, though its potential is truly exploding. It's important to remember that AI requires input from us and provides output based on that input. The great thing about AI is that it can save us a tremendous amount of time, allowing us to be more productive and profitable in our businesses.

When it comes to online businesses, AI has specific applications that can help streamline our processes and improve customer experiences. For instance, AI-powered tools can assist with content creation, which is typically a task that requires a lot of human input. By leveraging AI, we can automate certain aspects of content creation and focus our time and energy on other important tasks.

There's a Learning Curve

Now, it's important to note that there is a learning curve when it comes to utilizing AI in your business. However, with some dedication and practice, you can overcome this curve and reap the benefits. There are a variety of AI content creation tools available on the market, ranging from free options to more expensive ones. As with any business investment, it's essential to understand what each tool can and cannot do before making a decision.

When it comes to mastering tech, including AI, as a business owner, my belief is that you should strive to understand the strategies behind it, even if you plan to outsource certain aspects. By having a solid understanding of AI content creation tools and platforms, you can make informed decisions and increase your marketing activity.

In the Video I shared a Few Tools!!

So, let's take a look at a few popular AI tools that can revolutionize your content creation process. One example is ChatGPT, an AI-powered chatbot that can assist with generating content. To get started with ChatGPT, you'll need to sign up for an account on OpenAI. Once you're in, you can create content using prompts and engage in conversations with the AI.

With ChatGPT, you'll want to spend some time teaching the AI about your business and its context. This will help the AI better understand your requests and provide more accurate responses. While the free version of ChatGPT is available, upgrading to the paid version, GPT 4, unlocks additional features and plugins.

For instance, you can use ChatGPT to create marketing ideas or engage in community outreach. By simply providing a prompt about your bike shop and the types of customers you serve, the AI can generate creative ideas that you can incorporate into your business strategy.

We also created a few images in MidJourney!!

And we had a look at Cast Magic!

Now, let's talk about the key takeaways from using AI in your business:

1. AI can save you time and increase productivity: By automating certain tasks, AI frees up your time to focus on more important aspects of your business.

2. Understand the capabilities of AI tools: Not all AI tools are created equal, so it's crucial to understand what each tool can and cannot do before making a decision.

3. Embrace the learning curve: Implementing AI in your business may require some learning and practice, but the benefits are well worth the effort.

4. Leverage AI for content creation: AI-powered tools like ChatGPT can assist in generating content, providing you with fresh ideas and saving you time in the process.

Now, as a call to action, I encourage you to explore the world of AI and identify areas in your business where it can bring significant value. Take some time to research different AI tools and experiment with using them in your content creation process. Remember, the goal is to increase productivity, save time, and ultimately grow your business.

If you're interested in diving deeper into AI and its practical applications in business, I highly recommend checking out our video course on the topic. It offers a comprehensive overview of various AI tools and how to effectively incorporate them into your business strategy.

So, there you have it! AI is a powerful resource that can revolutionize your business operations. Embrace the possibilities, stay curious, and keep adapting as new AI advancements come your way.

I recently had the pleasure of being a guest on the podcast "Tap Into Your Body Confidence" with Coach Stephanie Wood. We had an amazing discussion about using metaphors to overcome business challenges and gain clarity. It was such an inspiring conversation that I wanted to share some key takeaways with you.

During the podcast, Stephanie and I shared our experiences and how metaphors have helped us navigate the entrepreneurial journey. One of the metaphors that has stuck with me throughout the years is from my rock climbing experience during an Outward Bound course.

I vividly remember being tied to a rope, standing on a pile of rocks, and questioning my decision to try rock climbing. As I struggled to find a solid foot hold, my instructor told me to "commit to the move." Those words resonated with me and have become a guiding principle in my business.

Commit to the Move- a Powerful Metaphor for Business!

The metaphor of committing to the move means being fully dedicated and wholeheartedly invested in your business. It's about putting your weight into every decision and action, knowing that success requires unwavering commitment.

Just like in rock climbing, there may be moments when you have to leave the safety of where you are and reach for something better. It can be scary, but taking calculated risks is essential to business growth. Having a support system, whether through mentors or other safety nets, can help mitigate the perceived risks and provide a sense of security.

In business, it's important to have a plan and backup strategies (like Plan B, C, and D) to manage potential risks and uncertainties. For some, keeping their day job while starting a business helps create a safety net. Others may rely on savings or other financial resources. The key is to be bold, take risks, and eventually let go of those safety nets when the time is right.

The Power of Metaphors for Business

The power of metaphors lies in their ability to create clarity, inspire confidence, and provide a visual representation of overcoming obstacles. Metaphors are not limited to big tasks or achievements. You can apply them to small steps and commitments to yourself, celebrating progress along the way.

Here's a challenge for you: Identify a goal or task that you want to accomplish and commit to taking a step forward. It doesn't have to be a giant leap; even small progress is progress. Embrace the power of metaphors as a tool to inspire and motivate yourself during your entrepreneurial journey.

Remember, as an entrepreneur, you have the ability to create your own path and success. Embrace the adventure, be willing to take risks, and commit to every move you make.
